From Guide to Living in Pittsburgh
Welcome to the revitalization effort for the Tenth Edition of the Guide to Living in Pittsburgh.
This guide book has been published semi-regularly by the Computer Science Community at Carnegie Mellon for over 25 years. We are currently in the long overdue process of bringing the text up to date, before we print our Tenth Edition, which will be again given to new students and also sold in bookstores.
You are welcome to peruse the pages below and if you would like to contribute please email pgage@cmu.edu, for a wiki account.
If you have a story that you believe would fit well into the guide, any comments, questions, or other feedback please email Patrick Gage Kelley at pgage@cmu.edu.
Eventually, we'd like to have a survey of the SCS grad students.
Outline Thus Far
Edition 9
Current Outline Proposed
I think we should likely continue to diversify the chapters, making them shorter and more focused. This will also assist us later if we want to put up certain chapters online, and it should make it easier to find editors if they are editing shorter more specific topics. Feel free to add to this list.
People who have been assigned a chapter, I recommend making pages for each sub-section of your chapter and beginning to import the content from older guide (above) and figure out what needs to be re-written and what simply does not exist.
